Dear Adventurers Parents and Explorers Parents,

Don't forget to send in payment and permission slips no later then this Wednesday, March 7th, to ensure we order a ticket for your child to attend the circus.

Friday, March 23- Ms Karen and Ms Natia's Classroom and Ms Courtney and Ms Nikkie's classroom will be going to a"Fully Charged"trip to the circus.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day:

On Tuesday, February 14th all Day Timers classes will be celebrating Valentines Day in their own classrooms. If you would like, please send valentines cards to school with your child by the morning of Wednesday, February 8th. The number of Valentines is reflective of full and part time students in your child's room. The Valentines need only to be signed... your friend or love... then your child's name.

Dear Parents,
At this time of the year, colds, flu and other contagious sicknesses are sometimes more evident. At Day Timers we're very careful about the spread of germs. We Practice healthy habits with the children and we are careful to always use sanitizing solutions and procedures to stop the spread of germs. But, we need your assistance and cooperation.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR
CHILD/CHILDREN
TO SCHOOL IF YOU HAVE GIVEN
HIM OR HER
A FEVER REDUCER
(TYLENOL, MOTRIN, ADVIL just to name a few).
This will only mask the symptoms and most of the time when the medicine has worn off, the fever returns. THIS IS HOW GERMS SPREAD!!! Please be considerate of the other well students and teachers.
KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME IF THEY HAVE A FEVER.
They must be fever free/rash free for 24 hours to return to school. If they are sent home with a fever they are not to return to school the next day, no exceptions.
KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME IF YOUR CHILD
GOT SICK DURING THE NIGHT.
Children just don't vomit in the middle of the night for no reason, they might not have a fever (yet) but they are fighting a bug.
We Truly appreciate your cooperation in helping us to stop the spread of germs!

Pageant Reminders

The children are working really hard on the pageant.
Its coming together so nicely!
If you have not sent in your child's costume, please do so by tomorrow (Friday, December 16th) so they can have a dress rehearsal with all the props. Notes where sent home last week saying what each child needs to bring in, if you still don't know what to bring in, please see your child's teacher TODAY.

Snow Policy

Winter is just around the corner (maybe tonight!).
Here are our policies and information regarding the winter weather:

Please take a moment to review this information. We arrive at our decision to open late, to remain closed or close early by consulting several sources: The local forecast, The Baltimore county School's decision, The Snow Emergency System, the teachers and /or families who live in the vicinity and most of all the safety of our families and staff.

1.Call the school by 6:15am at 410-581-2273. There will be a message on our machine to let you know if we are closing or having a delayed opening.

2.Go to our website www.daytimersdayschool.com and click on Bulletin Board. The first message posted will say if we are closed or opening late. (If for some reason you can't get your emails.)

3.If we need to close school early, you will receive a phone call informing you of the early pick-up time.

If any phone numbers have changed please see your child's teacher so we can update your emergency card.
If your email has changed please give us the updated address asap.

If your child is possibly staying at another location other then their primary residence the night of a possible storm, please inform the person responsible of our procedures before they venture out in a snow/ice storm with your child.

Picture Day

Tuesday, December 6th is picture day!

Put your smiles on and say cheese, the whole school is going to be in front of the camera for individual/sibling and class pictures.

Life Touch invites everyone to come and get their picture taken Tuesday morning December 6th.
You only pay for the pictures that you want.(return the ones you don't.)

If you are interested, please fill out the notice that is being was sent home today (Monday Nov. 28) and return it to your teacher tomorrow. Part timers return the notice your next school day.

School Supplies

Dear Parents,

          The school year is quickly approaching and school supplies are already out in the stores! Below you will find your child's supply list with a few reminders of school closings. Please view and save.

           Bring the following supplies to your Teacher in your child's classroom, preferably before the first day of school, Tuesday September 6th. The students will be sharing all the supplies throughout the year as a community of learners. Therefore, there is no need to label the items with your child's name. However, upon bringing the supplies to the classroom, be sure that you and your teacher sign the "Supply Sheet" with your child's name which will be located on the parents board. If you have any questions please call the school.

Please do not put your child's name on anything!!!

1 Box of (24) Crayons
2 Boxes of Markers (any size, any color)
1 Black Sharpie
4 packages of White BIG glue sticks, no gel please
2 reams of white 8 1/2 x 11" copy paper
1 pack construction paper
3 Pocket Folders (blank on the outside)
2 rolls of masking tape
1 plastic smock or old shirt
1 photo of your child ( this can be alone or with your family. the photo will be returned., but if you prefer to send in a copy, that's fine.)

Playgroud safety

We ask that children come to school dressed appropriately for learning. Our definition of appropriate school dress is clean, neat, and comfortable. Because our program stresses “hands on” learning, it makes sense for children to wear washable clothing in which they can move around comfortably. Please also see that children are dressed appropriately for the season; warm layers that can be added or removed for cooler weather, and cool clothing for warmer weather. Tie shoes are encouraged. Please do not send your child to school in Crocs or shoes without a back, such as flip-flops or other slip-on shoes without backs. This is a safety issue, especially on the playground. Dangling jewelry is discouraged.
